Thanks for joining me for Boba time!
I'm hoping that with my background of being a small business woman (literally and figuratively), a former public servant (i.e. Senator, Director of Labor), Researcher, Professor, Student and Lifelong Learner, AND an avid gardener and ocean lover, that you'd be interested in sparing a bit of time from your busy day to be with me here. I'd say, about enough time to enjoy a glass of your favorite Boba drink (or cup of coffee or tea).
Passion and Purpose
I'll be writing about topics that I'm passionate about, which I believe would be of interest to others. Why? Because I tend to get involved in things happening around me, which is your world, too. I enjoy discovering how young and old find purpose or direction in life, how we can improve the meaning of "community," ways to preserve our natural environment, supporting the arts, getting a handle on financial and job security, ways to improve our health, and how to age with dignity.
Evolving
Writing and learning is an ongoing process for me, and I look forward to growing and learning with you all about how to create a more healthy and meaningful life --- island style. So, please join me here to gain some nuggets of information or insights, essentially based on my educational, professional and personal experiences.
Topics for us islanders
The first few blogs, which I'll be honest requires lots of courage on my part, will be about finding direction, whether you're a student, a graduate or not, busy at home or at work, approaching or in retirement. If you're wondering why I chose Boba in my title, well, other than noticing our growing love for those delicious "tapioca pearls," I also love Star War -- remember Boba Fett, the Bounty Hunter?
